Arriving just after 10am I had intended to have a quick look around grab a few autographs and then go home for dinner, but ended up returning in the afternoon to watch the Dalek show introduced by 10th Doctor Impersonator Matt Holden, which was well worth returning for.
Walking round the venue upon my initial arrival we were faced with many wonderful and assorted costumes. I made a beeline for the Dr who table but they (Colin Baker, Sarah Sutton and Frazer Hines) weren't in attendance at that point but there was a nice gentleman handing out postcards of 11th Doctor impersonator Matt Elliot and he also suggested that if we were to see Matt around get him to sign them. Which sure enough later on I did just that and also noticed him signing quite a few other postcards throughout the time I was there, I think he got a kick out of people asking for his autograph :-)
After having a look round I returned to the Dr Who Table which now had a queue, but even though I had met Colin, Sarah and Frazer all before some people are worth meeting more than once. I eventually reached as far as Colin and got his autograph the queue then seemed to grind to a halt, the reason being that Frazer seemed engrossed in reading his own book. So much so that Colin started jokingly to make comments to try and hurry him up. The person stood in front of us was making the most of the delay he asked Colin if he'd ever return as the doctor, perhaps in the 50th Anniversary episode, to which Colin said a definite No he then went on to point to a picture of him as the Doctor and then to his face he repeated the gesture a few times before saying that he'd made his point, everyone in the queue was in hysterics at this. Finally getting to Sarah and Frazer, just in time for Sarah to decide she wanted her photo taken with the Cast of Allo Allo (Kim Hartman, Richard Gibson and Sue Hodge). Frazer then decided he wanted his photo taken too but Colin thought it was a much better idea to stand in front of Frazer again everyone is in stitches (note Frazer holding his book over Colin's shoulder in the second pic). I think that I may well have missed all this if Frazer hadn't been so engrossed in his book therefore delaying the time it took me to get through the queue. Afterwards Frazer happily posed for a photo with my Mum who also attended the event.
Richard Gibson was lovely, upon asking my name he started jokingly calling me Vendy. Reminded me of a German lady who I used to work with many years ago, she used to call me Vendy. Some work colleagues decided to try and teach her to say Wendy, we were all in stitches by the time they eventually succeeded in getting her to say Wendy instead of Vendy. I asked if I could take his photo and afterwards he said and one more for luck so I got two pics of him with slightly different poses. I'd definitely go see him again.
